- Tie the conference to organizational priorities. Highlight how WAPHV’s focus areas - volunteer engagement, leadership development, operational excellence - align with your department’s goals.
- Reference specific sessions or topics. Point to agenda items that directly support your role or current initiatives.
- Show cost transparency. Provide a clear, itemized estimate and note the early‑bird rate for cost savings.
- Demonstrate ROI. Offer to share learnings, present a recap, or implement new strategies upon return.
- Keep the tone confident and purposeful. Frame attendance as a strategic investment in your organization’s volunteer program.
- Follow Up: After submitting your request, check in with your supervisor if you don’t receive a response within a reasonable time.
